Baby Care Tips for Using Disposable Diapers

For a few months after birth, your baby has not much to do than feed, sleep, wet and poop, and for that, she needs you around all through the day. Your baby will often be feeding and wetting the sheets as such you need to be on your toes to keep her clean all through the day. The round the clock work commitment can tire you out badly.

Disposable diapers are undoubtedly a sigh of relief for exhausted mothers. And yes, these are completely safe for your babies. The disposable diapers made today use materials that are suitable for the sensitive skin of your baby, and hence you can use them for your little one without much worry. These can keep both the parents and the baby happy, but as your little one’s skin is too sensitive, here are some care tips that you must follow while using them.

Tips for using disposable diapers

The diapers are in direct contact with your baby’s skin; hence, you must pick the right one and follow proper precautions while using them. The disposable diapers are made using chemicals. Though these chemicals are considered non-toxic, they may irritate in some cases and cause rashes. Given below are a handful of tips that you must follow to avoid red rashes:

  • Every time you use a diaper, check your baby’s skin for rashes. Some babies have too sensitive skin that might develop rashes. Also, some diapers might not be of that good quality. If a diaper is causing a rash, then switch to products of some other brand. Also, make sure that you pick the correct size for your baby
  • You should change the diapers after regular intervals to avoid rashes or infections. Keeping your baby in the wet diaper for long will invite infections. You must keep the area dry by frequently changing the diapers. It is best to change them after every three hours.
  • If your baby passes stool, then remove the diaper immediately. Again, soiled diapers will harm your baby and cause infections
  • Heavy diapers may hamper the movement of your baby. Use gel-based diapers that absorb the liquid immediately and do not get heavy. These keep dry and airy for long, and your baby will remain happy and active
  • Continuous wetting during the night might disrupt your baby’s sleep and yours as well. Further, it might lead to infections. Hence, during the night, it is best to opt for overnight diapers that are specially designed to absorb wetness through the night without disturbing your baby’s sleep. These absorb more liquid than the regular diapers and let your baby sleep comfortably
  • Disposable diapers do make things easier for you but keeping your baby in diapers all through the day may not be a good idea. Do not make your baby wear the diaper round the clock. Let your baby’s skin breathe. If possible, do not make your baby wear another diaper immediately after removing one
  • Also, when you remove the diaper, you must clean the area with a cloth or wipe. After that, apply some baby powder, moisturizer or coconut oil to maintain the hygiene

So, these were some of the diapering tips that you must follow to keep your baby healthy and happy. Disposable diapers are the need of every mother. These make things much more convenient and less messy. Thus, you can always depend on them. But it is necessary to follow proper hygiene while using them. Rashes develop due to wetness and moisture; hence you must keep the region dry. Also, you must not keep your baby in a diaper all through the day. Give her some time to play around free.
